CHATTOGRAM, Nov 02: Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) has extended the contract with Saif Powertec Limited for operational activities of Chittagong Container Terminal (CCT) for next three weeks from today.

In a letter, signed by the traffic officer (South Division) on behalf of the director of traffic issued on November 1, the CPA extended the tenure of operation.

The letter said the CPA had decided to retain the company temporarily to ensure the continuation of terminal operations while the appointment process for a new operator remains ongoing.

Saif Powertec has been operating the CCT under an agreement signed with the port authority on 17 October 2019.

According to the latest decision, the company will continue handling operations at the terminal during the transitional period until a new operator is appointed.
