NRBC Bank is currently traded in the “Z” category on the stock exchanges after failing to declare dividends for shareholders for two consecutive years.

Rafikul Islam Mia Arzoo, a sponsor and former vice chairman of NRBC Bank PLC, has announced plans to gift 30 lakh shares of the bank to his brother, Aktarul Islam.

According to a regulatory disclosure filed with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) today (7 September), the transfer will be executed off-market (outside the trading system of the exchange) within the next 30 working days, effective from 2 September.

Rafikul Islam previously served as chairman of the bank’s Audit Committee. The recipient, Aktarul Islam, also known as Akhtarul Islam Bachchu, is already a shareholder and placement holder of the bank.

NRBC Bank is currently traded in the “Z” category on the stock exchanges after failing to declare dividends for shareholders for two consecutive years.

The bank’s share price rose by 3.45% today to close at Tk8.90.

For January-June 2026, the bank’s consolidated earnings per share (EPS) surged to Tk0.609, up sharply from Tk0.083 in the same period last year.

The growth was even stronger in the second quarter, with EPS reaching Tk0.479 in April-June 2026, compared with Tk0.003 in the corresponding period a year earlier. Management attributed the surge in earnings to higher operating income and a significant reduction in tax provisions.

The bank’s net asset value (NAV) per share also increased to Tk17.46 as of 30 June 2026, from Tk16.74 in December 2025, driven by growth in retained earnings and statutory reserves.

However, consolidated net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) edged down to Tk18.068 from Tk18.384, mainly due to higher interest and income tax payments.
