The turnover of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) fell by 28% to Tk307 crore on Wednesday, reflecting reduced market participation driven by subdued investor confidence.
During the session, the benchmark index DSEX of the DSE dropped by 5 points to close at 5,185, while the blue-chip index DS30 edged down by 1.74 points to settle at 1,921.
Out of the traded issues, 118 advanced, 214 declined, and 64 remained unchanged.
The RSRM Steel, despite being out of operation, topped the gainers’ chart, while Islami Commercial Insurance emerged as the worst performer of the day.
