নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : শেয়ারবাজারে ফ্লোর প্রাইস প্রত্যাহার হচ্ছে না বলে জানিয়েছেন নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা বাংলাদেশ সিকিউরিটিজ অ্যান্ড এক্সচেঞ্জ কমিশনের (বিএসইসি) চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যাপক শিবলী রুবাইয়াত-উল-ইসলাম।

শনিবার (০৯ ডিসেম্বর) রাতে বিএসইসি চেয়ারম্যান অধ্যাপক শিবলী রুবাইয়াত-উল-ইসলাম এই তথ্য নিশ্চিত করেছেন।

বিএসইসি চেয়ারম্যান বলেন, বিনিয়োগকারীদের সুরক্ষার কথা চিন্তা করেই ফ্লোর প্রাইস দেওয়া হয়েছে। সম্প্রতি ফ্লোর প্রাইস উঠে যাচ্ছে বলে একটি গোষ্ঠি গুজব রটাচ্ছে। এর কোনো ভিত্তি নেই। এটি সম্পূর্ণই গুজব। এই মুহূর্তে ফ্লোর প্রাইস তুলে নেয়ার বিষয়ে কমিশন কোন সিদ্বান্ত নেয়নি।

শিবলী রুবাইয়াত আরও বলেন, আগামী দ্বাদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনের পর শেয়ারবাজারে লেনদেন বাড়বে। সেই সঙ্গে অর্থনীতির চাকা আরও সচল হবে, তখন ফ্লোর প্রাইস নিয়ে সিদ্বান্ত নেয়া হবে। তবে ফ্লোর প্রাইস উঠানো নিয়ে কমিশন থেকে এমন কোনো সিদ্ধান্ত এখনো নেওয়া হয়নি।

শেয়ারবাজারের বিনিয়োগকারীদের সুরক্ষা দেওয়া ও ধারাবাহিক পতন ঠেকাতে গত চার বছরে তিন দফা শেয়ারে ফ্লোর প্রাইস আরোপ করে নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা বিএসইসি।

প্রথমবার ২০২০ সালে মার্চে ফ্লোর প্রাইস আরোপ করলেও তুলে নেওয়া হয় ২০২১ সালের জুলাইয়ে। এরপর টানা দরপতন ঠেকাতে গত বছরের ২৮ জুলাই শেয়ারবাজারে পুনরায় ফ্লোর প্রাইস চালু করে বিএসইসি।

সমাপ্ত অর্থবছরে কোম্পানির শেয়ার প্রতি সমন্বিত লোকসান হয়েছে ২ টাকা ৩৬ পয়সা। আগের বছর একই সময় যার পরিমাণ ছিল ৫১ পয়সা।

আলোচ্য অর্থবছরে শেয়ার প্রতি নেট অপারেটিং ক্যাশ ফ্লো (এনওসিএফপিএস) ৫ টাকা ৪৮ পয়সা (নেগেটিভ) এবং শেয়ার প্রতি নেট সম্পদ মূল্য (এনএভিপিএস) ৪৮ টাকা ১৮ পয়সা।

কোম্পানির ডিভিডেন্ড সংক্রান্ত রেকর্ড ডেট নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছে আগামী ২৭ ডিসেম্বর অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।

আজ মঙ্গলবার (০৫ ডিসেম্বর) ঢাকা স্টক এক্সচেঞ্জে (ডিএসই) স্কয়ার ফার্মাসিউটিক্যালসের এই উদ্যোক্তা ওই শেয়ার কেনার ঘোষণা দেন।

এর আগে গত রোববার কোম্পানিটির অন্য দুই উদ্যোক্তা পরিচালক ১০ লাখ করে মোট ২০ লাখ শেয়ার কেনার ঘোষণা দিয়েছিলেন।

সব মিলিয়ে গত তিন দিনে স্কয়ার ফার্মার তিন উদ্যোক্তা মিলে ৩০ লাখ শেয়ার কেনার ঘোষণা দিলেন। বর্তমান বাজারমূল্যে এই শেয়ারের দাম প্রায় ৬৩ কোটি টাকা।

এদিকে স্কয়ার ফার্মার শেয়ারে তিন উদ্যোক্তা বড় অঙ্কের বিনিয়োগের ঘোষণা দিলেও বাজারে কোম্পানিটির শেয়ারের দামে তার কোনো প্রভাব দেখা যাচ্ছে না। আজও স্কয়ার ফার্মার শেয়ারের দাম ছিল ২০৯ টাকা ৮০ পয়সা—এটি কোম্পানিটির ফ্লোর প্রাইস।

Paramount Textile’s profit slides 14% in September quarter

Publicly listed Paramount Textile Limited, a sister concern of the Paramount Group, reported a 14% year-on-year decline in profit in the July to September quarter of the ongoing fiscal year.

During the quarter, the company’s consolidated net profit stood at Tk23.59 crore, resulting in a Tk1.34 earnings per share.

In its stock exchange filing, Paramount Textile blamed the global economic crisis for its profit decline as the company could not reach its expected export target.

Also, its net operating cash flow per share decreased because of poor cash management strategies like making early payments to the suppliers, the disclosure reads.

The company’s consolidated revenue, however, increased by 9.41% year-on-year to Tk226.61 crore in the first quarter of the fiscal 2023-24.

Of the amount, Tk191.33 crore came from yarn & solid dyed fabric, Tk5.51 crore from knit yarn dyeing, Tk4.54 crore from printing, and Tk25.22 crore from the supply of electricity.

At the end of September this year, the company’s net asset value per share stood at Tk37.55.

Established in 2006, Paramount Textile makes yarn-dyed fabrics, the sale of which makes 85% of its total income. But now, the company is entering the renewable energy sector.

In the fiscal 2022-23, its revenue was Tk946.38 crore, and after-tax net profit Tk136 crore. The company recommended a 10% cash dividend for FY23.

As of 31 October 2023, sponsors and directors jointly held 60.95% shares of the company, institutions 10.07%, foreign investors 4.38%, and general investors 24.60%.

Paramount Textile’s shares are stuck at the floor price of Tk77 each at the Dhaka Stock Exchange.

Asiatic Lab’s IPO subscription finally gets BSEC nod

The securities regulator has finally given its go ahead to the initial public offering (IPO) subscription of Asiatic Laboratories, which was held up for almost a year.

In January this year, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) suspended the company’s IPO subscription over allegations of false land ownership, inaccurate financials and fraudulent reports of share money deposits.

The commission then formed a probe committee to investigate the matters, and the committee uncovered false documents related to land ownership, inaccurate financial statements, and fraudulent reports of share money deposits submitted by Asiatic Laboratories.

Due to violations of securities laws and proven allegations, the BSEC last month imposed a fine of Tk50 lakh on each of its directors and the issue manager.

Additionally, Managing Director Monir Ahmed, chief financial officer, and company secretary of Asiatic Laboratories, in their roles as signatories in the prospectus, each faced fines of Tk25 lakh.

This means that the managing director faced a total fine of Tk75 lakh for his involvement in both segments of the process.

The issue manager, Shahjalal Equity Management, was also fined Tk50 lakh for its false due diligence in the company.

Finally, in a meeting held on Tuesday, the commission decided to withdraw the suspension on Asiatic’s IPO subscription, which is now expected to resume soon.

In September last year, the BSEC allowed Asiatic Laboratories to raise Tk95 crore through an IPO under the book-building method.

This involved electronic subscriptions by eligible investors to determine the cut-off price of shares. The cut-off price for each share was determined at Tk50, but general shareholders will get a discounted price of Tk20 each.

নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : দীর্ঘদিন যাবত শেয়ারবাজারে মন্দাভাব বিরাজ করছে। চলতি সপ্তাহে মন্দাভাব আরও গভীরতর হয়েছে। চলতি সপ্তাহের প্রথম কর্মদিবস রোববার প্রধান শেয়ারবাজার ঢাকা স্টক এক্সচেঞ্জের (ডিএসই) প্রধান সূচক কমেছে ৪ পয়েন্টের বেশি। এদিন শেয়ারবাজারে যতগুলো কোম্পানির শেয়ারদর বেড়েছে, তার চেয়ে দ্বিগুণ পরিমাণ কোম্পানির শেয়ারদর কমেছে।

দ্বিতীয় কর্মদিবস সোমবার পতনের ধাক্কা আরও বড় হয়েছে। এদিন ডিএসইর প্রধান সূচক কমেছে ২০ পয়েন্টের বেশি। পতনের ধাক্কায় এদিন তালিকাভুক্ত ৪১২টি প্রতিষ্ঠানের মধ্যে মাত্র ১৭টি প্রতিষ্ঠানের দর বেড়েছে। বিপরীতে কমেছে ১৩৪টি প্রতিষ্ঠানের দর। পতনের শীর্ষ কোম্পানিগুলোর বেশিরভাই শেষ বেলায় ক্রেতা সংকটে ভুগেতে দেখা গেছে।

আজ সপ্তাহের তৃতীয় কর্মদিবস মঙ্গলবার লেনদেনের শুরুতে বাজারে ইতিবাচক ধারা দেখা গেলেও দিনের মধ্যভাগে ফের নেতিবাচক প্রবণতা ভর করে। আজও যতগুলো কোম্পানির শেয়ারদর বেড়েছে, তার চেয়ে দেড়গুণ বেশি কোম্পানির শেয়ারদর কমেছে। আর সূচক কমেছে সাড়ে ৬ পয়েন্টের বেশি। তবে শেষ দিকে সেল প্রেসারের চেয়ে বাই প্রেসার কিছুটা বেশি দেখা গেছে। যার ফলে পতনের ঝাঁজ কিছুটা কমেছে। আজ ডিএসইর লেনদেন তিনশ কোটি টাকার নিচে নেমে গেছে।

বাজার বিশ্লেষকরা বলছেন, ডিএসইর প্রধান সূচক বর্তমানে ৬২০২.৮১ পয়েন্টে অবস্থান করছে। আজ পতন ১০ পয়েন্টে ওঠার পর সেল প্রেসার অনেক কমে যায়। অর্থাৎ সেই সময়ে শেয়ারের যে দাম চলছিল, সেই দামে বিক্রেতারা শেয়ার ছাড়তে রাজি ছিল না। ফলে শেষ বেলায় সূচকের পতন কমে ৬ পয়েন্টের কিছু বেশিতে দাঁড়ায়। যা আগামীকাল (বুধবার) বাজার ঘুরে দাঁড়ানোর লক্ষণ বলে তাঁরা মনে করেন।

তাঁরা বলছেন, আজ লেনদেন হঠাৎ করে তিনশ কোটির নিচে নেমে গেছে। এর আগে গত ২৮ মার্চ, ২০২৩ তারিখে ডিএসইতে লেনদেন হয়েছিল সর্বনিম্ন ২৭২ কোটি টাকা। যা পরেরদিনই বাজার ঘুরে গিয়েছিল। এরপর ১৭ আগস্ট ডিএসইর লেনদেনে ২৯২ কোটি টাকায় নেমে গিয়েছিল। তারপরের দিনও বাজার উঠে গিয়েছিল। এসব বিবেচনায় আগামীকাল বাজার কিছুটা ঘুরে দাঁড়াতে পারে বলে বাজার বিশ্লেষকরা আশাবাদ ব্যক্ত করেছেন। তাঁরা বলছেন, আগামীকাল বাজারের কিছুটা সাপোর্ট রয়েছে ৬১৯৬ পয়েন্টে। আর বড় সাপোর্ট রয়েছে ৬১৯০ পয়েন্টে।

Richard Rozario to become an uncontested director at Dhaka bourse

Richard D’ Rozario, the managing director of Global Securities Ltd, is poised to become a shareholder director on the board of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), as no other nominations have been submitted.

He is slated to replace Md Siddiqur Rahman, the chairman of Sterling Stocks and Securities Limited and the current director of DSE.

Rozario will secure his position on the board uncontested, as primary shareholders have expressed their preference for him, dissuading others from contesting.

The formalisation of Rozario’s directorship is expected to occur during the upcoming annual general meeting (AGM) of the DSE, scheduled for 21 December.

As per the demutualisation scheme of DSE, four directors are to be elected from among the owners of primary shareholder brokerage firms.

For the election of a director, DSE has formed a three-member selection committee.

Retired High Court Judge Md Abdus Samad was chosen as the chairman to conduct the election, with Dewan Azizur Rahman and Mohammad A Hafiz representing DSE shareholders as committee members.

The election date was declared as 8 November, and the time frame for submission and withdrawal of nomination forms was set between 21-26 November.

Rozario, being the sole candidate to collect and submit the nomination form within the stipulated time frame, emerged as the uncontested nominee for the directorial position.

Given the absence of other contenders, no further votes will be accepted for the candidacy of Richard D’ Rozario.

বিএসইসি’র একটি সূত্র জানিয়েছে, স্বল্প মূলধনী বিনিয়োগকারীদের কথা চিন্তা করেই বিএসইসি নতুন এই নির্দেশনাটির কথা ভাবছে।

এই নির্দেশনায় যে সকল বিনিয়োগকারী ২ থেকে ৩ লাখ টাকার শেয়ার নিয়ে ফ্লোর প্রাইসে আটকে আছে, ওই সকল বিনিয়োগকারী দুই তিন লাখ টাকার শেয়ার ব্লকে লেনদেন করতে পারবেন।

এছাড়াও ফ্লোর প্রাইস প্রত্যাহার বা দরপতনের সর্বনিম্ন সীমা ১ শতাংশের বেশি আরোপের বিষয়ে বাজারে যে গুঞ্জন রয়েছে, তা সঠিক নয়। অর্থাৎ ফ্লোর প্রাইস প্রত্যাহারের বিষয়ে এখনও স্থির অবস্থানে রয়েছে বিএসইসি।

বিএসইসির বর্তমান নিয়ম অনুযায়ী শেয়ারবাজারের ব্লকে লেনদেনের ক্ষেত্রে ন্যূনতম পাঁচ লাখ টাকার শেয়ার হাতবদল করতে হয়।

তবে ব্লক মার্কেটে লেনদেন বাড়াতে এই শর্ত শিথিল করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা। এই বিষয়ে বিএসইসি শিগগির আদেশ জারি করতে পারে বলে জানা গেছে। শেয়ারনিউজ, ২৬ নভেম্বর ২০২৩

নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদক : শেয়ারবাজারে তালিকাভুক্ত কোনো কোম্পানি যদি ডিভিডেন্ড দিতে না পারে তাহলে ‘জেড’ ক্যাটাগরিতে চলে যায়।

কিন্তু করোনা মহামারির সময়ে বিনিয়োগকারীদের স্বার্থে এই নির্দেশনাটি স্থগিত করে নিয়ন্ত্রক সংস্থা বাংলাদেশ সিকিউরিটিজ অ্যান্ড এক্সচেঞ্জ কমিশন (বিএসইসি)।

সেই সময়ে ‘জেড’ ক্যাটাগরির বিষয়ে বিএসইসি নতুন নির্দেশনা করে একটি নির্দেশনা জারি করে।

ওই নির্দেশনায় বলা হয়েছে, পরপর ২ বছর যদি কোনো কোম্পানি ডিভিডেন্ড ঘোষণা করতে না পারে, তারপর ওই কোম্পানি ‘জেড’ ক্যাটাগরিতে যাবে না। ওই কোম্পানির শেয়ার আগের ক্যাটাগরিতেই লেনদেন হবে।

করোনা মহামারির সময়ে জারিকৃত ওই নির্দেশনা শেষ হচ্ছে আগামী এপ্রিলে। যে কারণে আগামী এপ্রিল থেকে কোনো কোম্পানি ডিভিডেন্ড দিতে ব্যর্থ হলে ‘জেড’ ক্যাটাগরিতে স্থানান্তরিত হবে।

এই বিষয়ে বিএসইসির এক কর্মকর্তা শেয়ারনিউজকে বলেন, করোনা মহামারির মন্দায় বিনিয়োগকারীরা যাতে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ না হয়, সেজন্য আগের নির্দেশনাটি স্থগিত করে নতুন নির্দেশনাটি জারি কর হয়েছিল। যা এখনও বলবত আছে।

তিনি জানান, ২০২৪ সালের এপ্রিল থেকে ওই নির্দেশনার কার্যকারিতা শেষ হয়ে যাবে। ফলে এপ্রিল থেকে আগের নির্দেশনাটি কার্যকর হবে।

তবে বিএসইসি যদি এপ্রিলের আগে এই বিষয়ে অন্য কোনো সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণ করে, তাহলে সেই মোতবেক ‘জেড’ ক্যাটাগরির শেয়ারের অবস্থান নির্ধারিত হবে।

Data centre aims to enhance DSE trading efficiency

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) has inaugurated a state-of-the-art data centre, aiming to enhance the efficiency of daily share transactions. 

This newly established data centre comprises 106 racks and is classified as a Rated-3 facility, boasting multiple pathways to ensure continuous operation of power, cooling, and other essential systems without any disruption.

Trading operations from the new data centre at DSE Tower in Nikunja, Dhaka, commenced on 12 November, marking a significant milestone for the country’s premier bourse.

The introduction of this advanced data centre underscores DSE’s commitment to providing investors and stakeholders with a highly reliable and modern trading platform.

Present at the initiation of transactions through the new data centre were DSE Chairman Professor Hafiz Md Hasan Babu, Director Rubaba Dowla, Managing Director ATM Tariquzzaman, and other key figures.

Hasan Babu emphasised that the data centre complies with international standards, creating a secure environment equipped with cutting-edge technology.

He stated that this launch represents a substantial step towards the digitisation of DSE.

ATM Tariquzzaman noted that the new data centre marks another milestone for DSE, providing access to modern technology and enhancing the security of its trading platform.

He anticipates that this development will lead to increased transaction dynamics, fostering the growth of a more advanced and modern capital market in the future.

The establishment of the data centre infrastructure was made possible with the technical support of a consortium led by Oneworld Infotech (Ctrls, NDE, and Oneworld). DSE’s technology partners Nasdaq and FlexTrade also played a crucial role by providing technical support for application migration.
